SaaS Launch Budget: What Launch Platforms and Directories Really Cost

What a SaaS launch costs in October 2026: a price list for 15 launch platforms and services, three budgets ($0, ~$250, ~$1,000), paid upgrades that don't buy what you'd think, and whether directory submission services are worth it.

Guide cover: What a SaaS launch really costs, with a chart card titled "What paid listings cost"
By Pruthvi RajOctober 4, 2026Updated November 2, 2026

A SaaS launch can cost $0, apart from your time. Most launch platforms and directories have a free route. In our catalog of 394 active directories, 26% are completely free and 59% have a free route with paid upgrades. Paying buys speed and certainty (a chosen launch date, a guaranteed dofollow link, featured placement), and it's usually cheap: the median one-time paid listing is $24.50, and the middle half cost $10–$49.

Below: what paid listings cost, three worked budgets ($0, about $250, about $1,000), and where paying is and isn't worth it.

Distribution of one-time paid directory listing prices
291 one-time paid options across our catalog. Most cost under $50.

What paid listings cost

From 291 one-time paid options in our catalog (October 2026):

Price band Options
Under $10 71
$10–$19 72
$20–$29 40
$30–$49 43
$50–$99 43
$100–$299 20
$300+ 2

Real examples from our guides: Uneed $14.99–$29.99, DevHunt $19, TinyLaunch $39, PeerPush $39, StartupBase from $39, Fazier $49.

What paying usually gets you: a date you choose instead of a queue (often weeks or months), a guaranteed dofollow link instead of one that depends on votes, and featured placement during your launch week.

A launch price list (October 2026)

Prices we confirmed on each site's own pages while writing our directory guides:

Fazier $29 Lite, $49 Premium, $99 Super Only Premium and Super promise the link
TinyLaunch $39 Premium Featured spots $15–$30/week
PeerPush $39, $89, $229 Same link on every plan
Microlaunch $39 Launch Pro, $79 Launch Plus Discount codes on the page
StartupBase From $39 Premium; Outrank from $15 Free listings mostly nofollow
DevHunt $19, or $49 boosted Developer tools only
Launch Llama $39 Instant Launch; Featured $99/month The link still depends on upvotes
mcp.so $39 paid submission MCP servers
Big AI directories $47–$99 standard; up to $437 AI directory prices
Newsletter sponsorships Launch Llama $199 (one send); Uneed $399 Test one where your buyers read
Done-for-you directory submission Launch Llama $99–$199; PeerPush from $169; Uneed $249; TinyLaunch $279 Ask for the list first
Reddit Ads $5/day minimum; test at $25–$50/day Reddit guide
Waitlist tool Free up to 100 sign-ups; $19–$79 one-time or from $19/month Waitlist guide

When we inspected live listings, some paid options delivered less than their names suggest:

  • Launch Llama's $39 Instant Launch skips the four-week queue, but the link stayed nofollow on paid listings with fewer than about 20 upvotes.
  • Fazier's $29 Lite promises the link only to the daily top three. Premium ($49) is the tier that guarantees it.
  • PeerPush's $89 and $229 bundles add promotion, not a better link. The $39 plan (or free) gets the same followed link.
  • StartupBase's free route produced mostly nofollow links. If the link matters there, the $39 Premium is the real price.

Before paying anywhere, open a listing that launched a few weeks ago on the same plan and inspect its link (how).

Are directory submission services worth it?

Several launch platforms now sell "we submit you to 100+ directories" packages for $99 to $279. They can save 5–12 hours. The risk is the list: in our catalog of 394 directories, 58% get under 10,000 visits a month, and many links are nofollow or missing. Ask for the exact list before paying, check a sample against traffic and link type, and expect any "average DR increase" claim to depend heavily on where you start.

Three budgets

Three SaaS launch budgets: $0, about $250, about $1,000
The biggest cost at every level is your time.

$0: time-rich, cash-poor.

  • Free queues on Uneed, TinyLaunch and Peerlist, and Product Hunt (free)
  • 30–50 free directory listings, prioritised by relevance and traffic
  • Free G2, Capterra and TrustRadius profiles
  • Expect: a slower rollout (some free queues take 4–5 weeks or more), and links that depend on votes or badges

About $250: buy back the calendar.

  • Pay for 3–4 launch platforms with guaranteed dates and dofollow links (about $100–$150)
  • 5–8 paid directory listings where traffic and relevance are real (about $100)
  • Everything else free
  • Expect: a launch you control in one fortnight, with guaranteed links from 70+ DR sites

About $1,000: amplify a launch that works.

  • The $250 plan, plus featured slots in launch week
  • A paid newsletter placement where your buyers read (test one)
  • A small Capterra pay-per-click test once you have reviews
  • An editor for your launch content
  • Expect: more reach, so only worth it if onboarding converts

Where paying is worth it

  • Date-guaranteed launches when you're coordinating a launch week
  • Guaranteed dofollow links on high-authority, real-traffic sites. Check backlink quality first.
  • Removing badge requirements if you don't want third-party badges on your site (30% of free routes in our catalog require one)

Where it usually isn't

  • "Submit to 100+ directories" bundles of unknown sites: in our catalog, 58% of directories get under 10,000 visits a month
  • Big promotion bundles on sites whose traffic claims don't match third-party data (PeerPush example)
  • Anything before onboarding works: paid traffic to a page that doesn't convert is wasted

Track the spend

Log every payment next to the listing it bought, in your submission tracker, and compare against referral signups after 30 days.

A worked example: the $250 plan

A B2B tool launching in November buys:

Item Cost Why
Uneed Skip the line $29.99 Chosen Tuesday launch date, guaranteed dofollow link
TinyLaunch Premium $39 Skip the queue, guaranteed link in the same fortnight
DevHunt paid launch $19 Developer audience, dofollow link
Fazier Premium $49 Guaranteed DR 83 dofollow link
PeerPush Standard $39 Live in a minute, permanent link
3 paid niche directories ~$70 Real traffic in the product's category
Total ~$246

Everything else (Product Hunt, Peerlist, review sites, 30+ directories) uses free routes. The paid items buy a predictable two-week window with guaranteed links on sites with real traffic.

Don't forget the time cost

At roughly 5–15 minutes per directory form once your assets are ready, 50 listings is 5–12 hours of work, plus waiting on emails, CAPTCHAs and reviews. For many founders, time is the real budget constraint. That's the part AgentLaunch automates: your AI agent in Claude Code, Codex or Cursor picks the relevant directories and fills the forms, handing you only CAPTCHAs, payments and badges.
