What is an AI agent directory?
An AI agent directory lists AI agents and agent products: software that completes a task end to end rather than answering one prompt. Visitors are looking for an agent to do a specific job, such as research, outreach or support. The group is small and newer than AI tool directories, with modest but specific traffic.
Agent directory vs AI tools directory
An AI tools directory lists anything with AI in it: writing helpers, image generators, chatbots. An agent directory is narrower. It lists AI agents that take actions: browse, fill forms, send emails, write and run code. Categories are jobs ("sales prospecting agent") or frameworks.
What the numbers look like
We checked 8 AI agent directories. Median Domain Rating is 39.5, 75% give a dofollow link and 75% are free. Audiences are small and specific. See all agent directories.
What to include in an agent listing
Agent directories get many vague submissions, so specifics stand out:
- The task, end to end. "Finds 50 leads a day that match your ideal customer and drafts the first email" beats "AI sales agent".
- What it acts on. Which apps, websites or accounts it uses, and whether it works in the user's browser, on a server or through APIs.
- Where a human steps in. Approvals, payments, logins. Buyers want to know what stays under their control.
- Pricing and limits. Per task, per month, or bring your own model key.
- A demo. A short screen recording of the agent doing the task.
Example
A support agent that answers tickets inside a help desk lists on five agent directories with a 60-second video of it resolving a real ticket and handing an edge case to a human. Two of the listings rank on the directories' "customer support agents" pages, which bring a handful of qualified trials a month.
